Breathing fast
July 27, 2020, 1:59 AM- Q: I just received my puppy 3 days ago. She is energetic, eating and drinking well. However, when she sleeps she breathes fast. No cough. No fever. No sneezing. Should I be concerned? Because of covid the first available vet appt is not for 3 weeks
- A: If all else is normal then the respiratory rate is also normal. There is tremendous variation in respiratory rates in puppies. They also experience REM sleep during which time the respiratory rate reflects the activity he is experiencing in his dreams. You do not need to be concerned.
