Belly Bump

January 27, 2014, 6:45 PM
Q: my puppy is a morkie, she is 14 wks old and has a bump on her left side of her belly close to her leg, is this dangerous or is normal
A: If this is a lump under the skin where her leg joins her belly then it could be a lymph node or fat protruding in the inguinal ring. Neither of these is a cause for immediate concern. Keep an eye on it to see if it changes and if still present at your next vet visit be sure to ask them to check it. If it is a bump on top of the skin it could be many things. If possible you can email me a couple of photos to [email protected].
