Not Drinking

Q: My 5 year old 11 pound Maltipoo recently stopped drinking water after a recent illness. We are feeding her rice and shredded chicken breast in water as a short term solution. Why did she stop drinking water and how can we get her to start drinking water again?

A: In order to answer you completely it would help to know what type of illness she experienced.  If she feels good and is eating she likely is getting enough water.   Stopping the moistened and wet foods should be enough to get her drinking on her own.
