Puppy Going To Bathroom

Q: Hello, Our puppy just finally pooped. We gave him some chicken baby food through a syringe because that's the only way he would eat and then he went. Is it okay for him to only be eating once a day? He also hasn't been drinking his water. We tried giving him that through a syringe but he wouldn't take it.

A: Great! Glad he pooped. You should offer him a baby food/can food mix several times a day, once each 1-2 hours during the day and 2-3 times during the night for the first week or so. Soft food has a lot of water in it so he may not drink much but be sure you keep it available. Be sure to watch the "homecoming", "Too excited to eat" and the "hypoglycemia" videos.
