Q: My puppy is almost 3 months old and I've had him for about 2 weeks. He absolutely hates his puppy palace and cries in it no matter what time of the day I put him in there. Now I have to bring him to work with me because I don't feel comfortable leaving him in his crate to cry or outside his crate to run around my apartment. Can I get him a puppy pen and leave him in there with food/water, pee pad and toys for up to 8 hours?
A: You can use a pen although chances are you will experience the same problem. Your puppy doesn’t hate the palace, he hates being alone or separated from you. There is no reason you can’t try the pen except it could be premature so far as his potty training goes, you did not mention hhow that was progressing. You may have already taught him that you will give in and then trying to enforce the rule becomes even harder.
