Drinking water?

July 24, 2013, 5:01 PM
Q: I had a problem with my new puppy not drinking water. I was giving her some with a syringe, but felt like she wasn't getting enough, but then I got your email about using a water bottle. I'm not sure how much she's using that, but she suddenly started lapping up water from her dish. I'm chalking it up to the stress, she wasn't eating much either and she's fine with that now too. Thanks so much for your suggestions and follow-up call.
A: I get questions about water consumption frequently and rarely is there a serious problem as long as attitude and appetite are okay. With tiny breed puppies especially if they are eating wet food they will not have to drink much. I am glad she is okay and if you have any questions, anytime just let me know.
