Painful after vaccination

Q: Our puppy had DHPPC and Leptospirosis vaccines today and she is very sore in the shot areas and will not try standing or walking. Is this normal right after shots and at what point should we consider taking her in to the vet again?

A: It is no surprise when that happens but the good thing is it usually will only last a couple days and improve steadily by second day. You can give plain aspirin at 5mg per pound body weight twice daily.
