Doggy Doors

Q: Rosie is a 4 month old frenchie. She knows to go outside but we want to put in a doggy door in the laundry room well away from the back door where she being let out now. Will that be hard to get her to go the the other side do the house?
A: We have never had much problem getting a puppy used to a doggy door. It will probably help if you use a door in or near the laundry until you install the doggy door. Most training tips suggest using treats to lure the dog through the door without flaps first and then incorporate the flaps. I have always just pushed our puppies through the door with flaps and then call them back through with an inviting voice, it has never taken but a day or two.
