Training Tips

Anxious to get out

August 18, 2014, 9:18 PM
Q: My 10 week old Zuchon (teddy bear) puppy goes absolutely nuts in the crate. He calms down pretty quickly at night but goes berserk as soon as he hears footsteps in the morning. He is usually soaking wet from the exertion of trying to claw his way out of the crate and his heart is pounding. Will this improve with time?
A: Since he calms down quickly it is a sign that you have done a good job with initial training. He will adjust more and more to your routine, it is not someting you need to be worried about. See if you don't go to get him right away in the morning if he learns to wait patiently.
