Tearing up pads

April 26, 2020, 3:55 PM
Q: My 10 wk old cavapoo is chewing up her puppy pads in her crate. How do I get her to stop? We leave a nylabone teething bone in her crate to chew on but she still does it.
A: Tearing up pads is related to boredom so some times using interactive toys like Kong Quest or Starmark Everlasting Treats can help. The problem usually fixes itself with a little time and sticking to the routine. Usually you can increase her available space by adding an exercise pen after a couple weeks. Making this move too soon can delay her potty training progress. Chewing up the pads does not create a significant health risk.
